| Real food | 2008-11-13 | This is how happy I was that Martine made me meat balls for dinner. | | Write a comment | | Visitor | 2008-11-03 | Martine left yesterday after four days in sunny Oman. Having someone from home visiting after a couple of weeks alone on a project in Oman is quite nice. Especially when that someone is you girlfriend. The picture is taken on the hotel beach a quiet middle eastern night. | | Write a comment | |

| Most sorry, sir | 2008-11-01 | The room service here is fantastic. We ordered freshly squeezed lemon-mint juice (try it - it's really good!) and got it served 15 minutes later. The unfortunate waiter managed to spill a little bit of juice on the table cloth. He was really really sorry. So after I had paid the bill, said it was ok and convinced him that he did not have to come back with a new glass of juice he left apologizing. 5 minutes later he returned with a tray of chocolate. I could get used to this... | | Write a comment | |

| Dinner on the floor | 2008-10-23 | A nice thing about traveling is that you get to meet new and different people. Like these guys. They invited me for a traditional Omani dinner. We were all sitting on the floor and chatting while eating a goat they had slaughtered the same day. The meat was delicious and the company both fun and interesting. | | Write a comment | | Back at the Shangri-la | 2008-10-18 | I'm back in Muscat after a couple of days at the oil field in the dessert. After I checked in ("welcome back Mr Ellingsen") they called me from the service center and said I was entitled to some free welcome gifts. I selected my gifts and went for a swim. When I came back this table was waiting for me. Not bad at all! | | Write a comment | |
